PostHog collects everything your product does. Getting an answer out of it still means building an insight, picking events, setting a date range and saving the result somewhere.
Connect PostHog to Perplexity through CorpusIQ and you can skip the building. Ask where users drop off in onboarding, and the answer comes back with the step-by-step numbers.
The problem with the current workflow
A funnel is easy to read and slow to set up. Every new question, such as a different activation event or a different window, means editing the insight or creating another one. Product managers end up with dozens of saved insights and still build a fresh one for each meeting.
Founders and marketers who do not live in PostHog ask an analyst, then wait. The question is usually small. The wait is what hurts.
How CorpusIQ solves it
CorpusIQ exposes PostHog to Perplexity through the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant call external tools. Perplexity can read event definitions, event volumes, funnels, person counts and query results computed when you ask.
Read-only. Access uses a read-only API key. Perplexity cannot send events or change persons, cohorts or feature flags.
Current. Each question reads PostHog when you ask it.
Revocable. Disconnect in CorpusIQ, or revoke the key in PostHog.
What to ask
Paste these into Perplexity once PostHog is connected.
- "What is the conversion rate of my signup funnel?"
- "Where do users drop off in onboarding?"
- "Which events fired most in the last seven days?"
- "How many active users did we have last week?"
- "How many users completed the activation event this month?"
- "Which event is the strongest predictor of retention?"
- "List the event definitions in my project."
- "How did active users this week compare to the week before?"
Follow-ups work. Ask for the funnel, find the step with the biggest drop, then ask how many people reached it last week.
Example report: signup funnel conversion
This is the shape of answer you get for the first question. The numbers are illustrative.
What is the conversion rate of my signup funnel?
- 18%overall conversionlanding page to activation
- 5funnel stepslanding to activation
- 54%lost at onboardingbiggest single drop
What to act on: More than half of the users who create an account never finish onboarding. Start with that step, not the landing page.

Pair it with a CorpusIQ skill
The connector answers questions. Skills turn answers into a routine. The Product Usage Analyst works across PostHog, Google Analytics 4 and Search Console on feature adoption, funnel conversion, activation and retention. The Cohort Analysis Specialist groups users by shared traits to produce retention tables and curves.

Where this earns its keep
Small product teams get the most from it. A weekly check of the signup funnel, top events and active users takes one message instead of an insight rebuild. It also puts product numbers in front of people who would never open PostHog, like a founder before a board call or a marketer tracing signups back to a launch.
What to watch out for
The answer is only as clean as your event tracking. If two events mean the same thing under different names, the funnel will split them. Ask Perplexity to list your event definitions first when results look off. Funnel steps follow the order you define, so a funnel with the wrong steps gives a confident wrong answer.
Read-only also means read-only. Fixing a tracking gap still happens in PostHog.
