ChatGPT OAuth is the authorization step that lets ChatGPT read a business tool without ever seeing your password. With CorpusIQ, you click connect, sign in to the tool on its own login screen, and approve a read-only scope. The tool returns a scoped token to CorpusIQ, not to ChatGPT directly. ChatGPT then queries the tool through that token and returns cited answers. You can revoke access at any time from the tool's own connected-apps settings.

OAuth removes the need to share a password or a service-account credential with the AI assistant. Instead of handing over login details, you approve a specific, limited grant on the tool's own login screen. The assistant never sees your password and never gets standing admin access.
The token CorpusIQ requests is scoped to read only. That means the assistant can list and read records, but it cannot send email, modify orders, change CRM fields, or delete files. Read-only is the default for every connector, so the blast radius of a connected assistant stays small.
The scoped token is held by CorpusIQ, which calls the business tool on the assistant's behalf. ChatGPT asks a question, CorpusIQ fetches the data through the read-only token, and the answer comes back cited. Your password is never exposed to ChatGPT or stored by CorpusIQ.
You stay in control. Open the connected-apps or third-party-access settings inside the tool itself (Google, Microsoft, QuickBooks, Shopify, and others all expose this) and remove the grant. Access stops immediately, with no dependency on CorpusIQ to honor the revocation.
