How to Connect Google Drive to ChatGPT with CorpusIQ MCP

FAQ: Common Questions

Is this read-only? Yes. The connector lists files, searches files, reads file contents and reports storage statistics. It does not upload, edit, move or delete anything, and it does not change sharing.
Which file types can be read? Google Docs, PDFs and text-based files are the readable set. A scanned image with no text layer is not a document the connector can quote, which is the same limit every text-based tool has.
Does it search file names or file contents? Both are available: one tool lists and searches files, another reads the contents of a file once it is identified. For a question about what a document says, the useful path is find the file, then read it, and the answer names the file it read.
Does my whole Drive get exposed? The connector can reach what the connected Google account can open, and nothing else. Files that were never shared with that account stay out of scope. Google's consent screen lists the read-only permissions being requested, and access can be revoked from Google Account security settings at any time.
Can it answer across Drive and my other systems? Yes, and that is where document search becomes useful. "Which customers with an open deal have a signed order form in Drive" spans Drive and the CRM. "Which contracts are up for renewal this quarter" spans Drive and the billing system.
