How to Connect TikTok to Perplexity with CorpusIQ MCP

TikTok reports views, likes, comments, and shares per video, one video at a time. What it will not do is tell you which of the last forty actually carried the account.

That answer needs the whole set side by side, and usually a comparison against the other channels you are funding.

Connecting TikTok through CorpusIQ MCP makes those questions answerable inside a Perplexity thread, read-only.

How It Works

1. Connect TikTok to CorpusIQ through the TikTok consent screen with the analytics scopes.
2. Add CorpusIQ to Perplexity as a custom remote MCP server, using the endpoint from your CorpusIQ account settings.
3. CorpusIQ queries the profile, the posted video list with per-video metrics, and the aggregate analytics across the account as the question requires.
4. Perplexity answers from those records and names the period it measured.

Direct MCP retrieval is read-only. It does not retain raw customer files or full connector response payloads; operational query logs are retained for up to 30 days.

Setup Steps

In CorpusIQ

1. Open your dashboard, find TikTok, and click Connect.
2. Sign in to TikTok if you are not already, review the requested scopes (profile, video list, video analytics), and click Authorize.

In Perplexity

1. Open Settings and find the MCP servers section.
2. Add a custom MCP server and paste the endpoint:

1. Connect and approve the CorpusIQ authorization page once.
2. Start a new thread and ask a video question.

TikTok requires every requested scope to be approved. A partial approval fails the connection, and the fix is to reconnect and accept the full set.

Security

• Read access only. The connection reads the profile and video analytics. There is no path from Perplexity that posts, deletes, comments, or follows.
• Revocable at any time. Disconnect in CorpusIQ or revoke the app in TikTok and the connection ends immediately.
• Account-scoped. Access follows the TikTok account you authorised. A different account stays out of reach, and the fix for a wrong account is to disconnect, switch, and reconnect.
• Scoped direct-MCP retention. Raw customer files and full connector payloads are not retained. Operational logs keep query text and bounded outcome summaries for up to 30 days.
• TLS in transit between TikTok, CorpusIQ, and Perplexity.

FAQ: Common Questions

Can Perplexity post to TikTok or comment on videos?

No. The connection carries analytics scopes and the connector has no posting or commenting tool.

Why did authorization fail?

TikTok requires all requested scopes to be approved. Reconnect and accept each permission on the consent screen rather than deselecting any.

A video I just posted is missing. Why?

Newly posted videos take a few hours to appear in TikTok's API. Ask again later rather than reconnecting.

It connected the wrong account. How do I fix that?

Disconnect TikTok in your CorpusIQ dashboard, switch to the right account in the TikTok web app, then reconnect.

Can it show revenue or TikTok Shop figures?

The connector reads profile and video analytics: views, likes, comments, shares, follower counts, and per-video detail. Shop and ad revenue sit in TikTok's separate surfaces and are not part of this connection.

Does this work only in Perplexity?

No. TikTok is exposed to ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity through the same endpoint on the same subscription.

Where is the TikTok data stored?
