CorpusIQ vs Viktor Security¶
Viktor connects 3,200+ tools to your Slack workspace and shares every connection with everyone on the workspace. CorpusIQ connects 40+ business tools to your AI assistants and scopes every connection to the user who authorized it. The difference is the difference between a shared login and a governed system.
How Viktor handles access¶
Viktor connects to your tools at the workspace level. When a team member connects Stripe or GitHub or Google Ads, every member of the workspace can use that connection. The company describes this as a tradeoff: great for shared resources, not ideal for personal accounts.
Viktor's own site states that per-user isolation, called Private Mode, is on the near-term roadmap. It is not shipped.
That means today, on Viktor, the whole team shares every login. The person who connects the bank account gives the whole workspace access to it. There is no per-user boundary.
How CorpusIQ handles access¶
Every CorpusIQ connection is authorized by the user who owns it, with read-only OAuth. Each user connects their own accounts, and each user's AI assistant only sees what that user authorized. No workspace-wide sharing of credentials.
- Per-user OAuth scoping: your connections are yours
- Read-only access: CorpusIQ reads data, never writes to your tools
- User-scoped queries: the assistant answers from what you connected, not what the company connected
- No shared passwords: every connection is an individual OAuth grant
The real difference¶
| Viktor | CorpusIQ | |
|---|---|---|
| Connection scope | Workspace-wide | Per-user |
| Private Mode | Coming soon (roadmap) | Shipped |
| OAuth scoping | Shared across team | Per-user grants |
| Access model | Anyone can use any connection | Each user sees only their own |
| Write access | Yes, Viktor executes actions | Read-only, validation before answers |
| Audit | Workspace-level activity log | Per-user attribution |
Why it matters¶
An AI employee with access to every tool in the company is a security model from 2019. The person who connects Salesforce makes it available to every coworker, including the ones who should not see the sales pipeline.
The whole point of an AI assistant is that it acts as you. If it acts as everyone, it is not yours. It is a shared account with a chat interface.
Per-user scoping is not a feature for enterprises. It is the baseline for anyone who connects financial tools, customer data, or anything a competitor should not see.
FAQ¶
Does Viktor really share everything?¶
Viktor's own documentation states that all integrations are shared at the workspace level and that Private Mode with per-user isolation is on the roadmap. Yes.
Is CorpusIQ read-only really safer?¶
External-source retrieval tools are read-only; write-capable and control-plane tools are separately named and annotated. An assistant that only reads cannot accidentally delete a product, change a price, or send an email. Validation happens before answers, not after damage.
What happens when Viktor ships Private Mode?¶
When they ship it, the playing field moves. Until then, the gap is real, and it is the gap we ship today.
Does per-user scoping slow down onboarding?¶
No. Each user connects their own tools in the same flow. The result is a system where every answer is attributable to the user who asked and the sources they authorized.
